German-Turkish Chamber of Industry and Commerce

At 150 locations in 93 countries, the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs) offer their experience, contacts and services for German and foreign companies. The German Chambers of Commerce Abroad are represented in all countries that are of particular importance to the German economy.

The German-Turkish Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Türkiye) was founded in 1994 on the initiative of Prof. Dr. Tansu Çiller and Dr. Helmut Kohl on the basis of Council of Ministers Resolution 94/5592 and operates as an official organisation.

The German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs)

AHKs in Germany are closely linked to the network of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHKs). Together, IHKs and AHKs support German companies in establishing and expanding their economic relations with foreign countries.

The umbrella organisation of the IHKs is the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), which also coordinates and manages the AHK network.

The close cooperation with the German business associations also ensures that the AHKs are networked closely with companies and the market. 

AHK Türkiye

The German-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Türkiye) originated from the initiative of the Turkish and German governments was founded in 1994 by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) and the The Union of  Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB).

For the effective execution of the three functions, good relationships with public institutions and organisations are of great importance. Some of our partners in both countries include:

• Associations
• Organised industrial zones and free trade zones

Good and sustainable relations and an effective exchange of information between public institutions, German and Turkish associations and the members of the Chamber enable the realisation of joint projects and promote economic relations between Türkiye and Germany. 

Our Local Network

TOBB- Umbrella organisation of the AHK in Türkiye

AHK Türkiye is a chamber under Turkish law. It is also the only bilateral chamber in Türkiye that has the status of a chamber. As a Turkish chamber, AHK Türkiye is also one of the chambers in Türkiye. The umbrella organisation of Turkish chambers and thus also of AHK Türkiye is TOBB (The Union of Turkish Chambers and Exchanges).

TD-IHK eV (Turkish-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce e.V.)

TD-IHK e.V. (Türkisch-Deutsche Industrie- und Handelskammer e.V.) is a business association based in Berlin. TD-IHK was founded in 2004. TD-IHK is responsible for supporting the Turkish economy in Germany. The foundation of TD-IHK goes back to the same document with which AHK Türkiye was founded. The previous German Chancellor Kohl and Turkish Prime Minister Çiller agreed in the early 1990s on the establishment of business representation in each other's country.
